Feedback collection

This guide explains how to use Rally for gathering asynchronous feedback from your team.

Rally makes it easy for everyone to contribute thoughtfully on their own schedule while keeping all context organized in one place.

1

Begin by creating your feedback item in Jira. Once created, start a new Rally session with the item/agenda you need feedback on.

2

Configuring Your Session

Since you're collecting feedback, you can skip the estimation phase entirely.

Simply click the estimation tab and select "Skipped" to move past this step.

Set your chosen time frame using Rally's timer - this helps set clear expectations for when feedback is needed while giving team members flexibility to contribute when they're most productive.

3

Gathering Feedback

Share the session link with your team.

They can join at any time during the set period, where they'll find the complete context from the Jira ticket and an intuitive chat interface for sharing their thoughts.

Rally's AI will help guide deeper thinking with suggested discussion points, while team members can react to and build on each other's feedback.

4

Collecting Insights

As feedback comes in, Rally automatically organizes the input by capturing key takeaways and identifying potential new items.

Discussions stay neatly threaded in the chat component, making it easy to follow different lines of thought and reference specific points later.

5

Reviewing Feedback

After your session ends, review the collected highlights, extract action items, and create new Jira tickets from suggested items if needed.

Everything remains accessible through the original Jira ticket for future reference.

While support for non-Jira items is coming soon, current feedback sessions must start with a Jira ticket.
