# Joining Your First Rally Session

After completing the steps in [**Hosting your first Rally Session**](/rally-docs/getting-started-with-rally/quick-guide-to-hosting-your-first-rally-session-on-jira/hosting-your-first-session.md#once-youve-created-your-session-via-your-jira-board-or-in-the-rally-for-jira-app-follow-these-steps)**,  you can click the "Join Session" button to join your new session.**&#x20;

Only members within your Atlassian Organization can join your Rally sessions.

If you are a first-time user, this will open the Atlassian authorization page, as Rally uses your Atlassian credentials to manage access to your organization's Rally sessions.

After accepting Rally's access to your Atlassian account, you can join your session using your Atlassian profile, any predefined avatars, and your name or alias.
