# Timer

The timer at the top of your Rally session helps teams manage their discussion time effectively.

You can set specific durations for each agenda item, ensuring your team spends the right amount of time on each topic without getting stuck or rushing through important discussions.

Do you need to pause for a quick sidebar or an unexpected question?

The timer can be paused at any time. When you're ready to continue, restart it to keep tracking.

You can reset the timer for each new agenda item and set a new duration appropriate for that discussion.
